Last year i heard of NaNoWriMo in a writing magazine. It was the middle of october and i was already working on a novel.I knew i could not prepare for a new project in two weeks.
This year i knew it was coming.I am working on a novel at the moment, but plan to finish the first draft in time for Nov 1st.
I know alot of writers disapprove of NaNo because it is impossible to call 50,000 words a novel, but it is one hell of a great synopsis.
What i am hoping to get from the month is discipline.I know i can write 2,000 words or more in one go,but i also know i can then not write for a week!
I plan to write every day rather than do larger word counts less often.I have heard it said that if you repeat an action 21 times it becomes a habit.I want to get the writing habit.
I also know from experience that if i take to long on my first draft i lose the passion for my characters. When i start a new project i can barely sleep. The story fills my brain every waking hour.I am hoping writing every day will keep it fresh.
I am looking forward to it.50,000 words in 30 days.Only crazy people attempt it-and i am crazy!
